The south road from Tana to Tulear

Come to explore the biodiversity of  the southern Madagascar, a land of contrasts.  The national road n° 7 leading to the south enables visitors to get familiar with  picturesque villages of highland landscapes : houses made of red clay with tiles or thatch roof, surrounded by rice fields and various cultures that are unique to this area of high agricultural purposes.

Make a stop in the peaceful town of Antsirabe. Walks around the volcanic lakes of Tritriva or Andraikiba can be followed by a stop in Ambositra where you will discover the specificity  of the Zafimaniry woodcarving and handicraft, which was classified as world heritage by UNESCO.
The rail journey between Fianarantsoa and Manakara allows on to see picturesque landscapes that stretch between the small train stations along the railway.
Visit the large rainforest of Ranomafana national park, full of originality and variety. Botany, ornithology, herpetology, cultures are fascinating attractions which captivate you in this tropical rainforest.
Discover the huge granite domes of Tsaranoro, with its sacred forest inhabited by catta lemurs, his waterfall, his natural swimming pool, and nearby Bara bory villages : an unique opportunity to discover the malagasy traditional life of this isolated population.
Walk inside the National Park of Isalo : a combination of sandstone rocks cut by deep canyons, bush plains and rare endemic plants like Pachypodium and Aloe make this Park particularly rewarding. The natural swimming pool and the maki canyons are among Isalo’s highlights.

For a few days more, we recommend to unwind on beaches of Ifaty, Anakao or Salary at the end of the tour.
