Over water towards the Tsingy of Bemaraha

Come to discover the western Madagascar, over water towards the Tsingy of Bemaraha.

Leaving Miandrivazo, we get on barge to descent the Tsiribihina river until Belo sur Tsiribihina. It is an attractive cruise which allows a very close discovery of a rich and unique fauna and flora in places off the beaten tracks of the unusual West.  The lenght is approximately 150 kms, made on 3 days with 2 nights spent in campsites set up on big sandbanks. The excursion is particularly interesting and diversified : from a very dry set without vegetation you will see appearing a dense forest populated with diverse animal species among which lemurs, reptiles and birds, gorges sheltering giants bats, cliffs, immense sandbanks and first baobabs which announce the end of the river descent. It is also an opportunity to meet the people along the river, among others the culture of rice and tobacco, the breeding of zebus, the fishing and also the traditional washing.

Downstream, we reach the National Park of Tsingy of Bemaraha. These sharp limestone peaks rising up to sixty meters above sea level have been classified World Natural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Eroded over millions of years by rain and winds, this extraordinary and unique geological formation is traversed by an impressive labyrinth of caves.
